2000 Chevy Astro Van- MIL on and flashing

3 codes:
P0300: Misfire code
P0155: Bank 2 Sensor 1 Heater failure
P1122: TP CKT intermittent low

Car has a dead miss. MIL flashes under acceleration

Where would you start?

P1122: TP CKT intermittent low
I would start with P1122: TP CKT intermittent low( probably bad tp or connection)
next figure out what cylinder is dead and find out why(no spark or fuel)
last i would do the P0155: Bank 2 Sensor 1 Heater failure (if the O2 still working, if not fix first)

I assume these code were pulled on the enhanced side.  When you pull OBDII generic codes, what do you get?  It's a good chance you'll get a cylinder specific code.  What is the status of the readiness monitors?  What code(s) set freeze frames, what was the most recent freeze frame, and what data is in the freeze frames?  GM vehicles are capable of setting multiple freeze frames.  On the enhanced data stream, what is the TPS voltage at idle, and how are the misfire counters?  Current and history.  I would also power brake the vehicle in the stall, and while the MIL was flashing, I'd watch the misfire counters.

I won't go any farther, I don't think it's too fair that I participate.  I thought I'd just share where I would start -- all of this would take less than 3 minutes and it would tell you worlds of information.

Codes were all pulled on the enhanced side. No need to go global for a specific cyl with the misfire counter. This is assumung that only one cyl is counting.

Found cyl 2 missing constantly.

Dont have the freeze frame data anymore as the car was shipped, but nothing in there helped with the diagnosis nor in monitor status.

TP voltage at idle and throughout the whole sweep looked normal. Freeze frame for the P1122 was set at 72mph, 2100rpm, TP V = 0

O2 heater has B&G

Car has a 4.3L V6 w/ CSFI

Pulled wheel off, pulled plug. Plug was dry and I had spark.

Where do you want to go next?

And yes all of this in 1/4 of the diag time I was given.
So feel free to keep playing. This is an easy one.

I'll hang back and let others participate.  I just thought I'd respond to get the discussion started.  If we progress through these things too quickly then people will either be unable or unwilling to participate.

You are only given .25 hour to diag?  You must be flat rate at a dealership.

No I got an hour. But after about 15 minutes I got it all figured out.

Flat rate independant
