Please, no Ford jokes. I just wanna know if anyone in the club has sweet hookups with Ford parts. I need the plastic intake manifold for my pink lady but Ford retail is like $650 just for the manifold, not including throttle body and intake. Anyone? I'm not payin that much for a hunk o' plastic. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Specifically what kind of Ford is this. Make/Model/Year. Also, if I can ask, why do you need the intake? Why do you also need the throttle body, and I presume you meant intake snorkel/tube? Are you trying to return a vehicle to stock configuration?
Dorman makes a plastic intake manifold replacement for the 4.6L V8 engines. They may make other such things for other engine configurations. The downside is that you have to also purchase the appropriate Dorman gasket kit, and you will forever not be able to use stock gaskets with the kit. The Dorman kits are cheaper than the factory parts, but I don't remember by how much. We won't install them in my shop, we prefer factory, but it is a popular kit to see installed in shops. Aftermarket, in the best scenarios, will work out okay, but most of the time there are problems. None the less, you may want to check into the Dorman stuff.
The last resort might be to check for used parts in the salvage yards. That gives me the heebie-jeebies just saying that.
Well it's for an engine that I'm finishing up. Ford, 2005 Ranger/Explorer/Mustang 4.0 SOHC V6. It came out of a wrecked truck, hence the need for everything intake. And I actually need one of the valve covers. I'll check out Dorman cause it's too new of an engine to find stuff at Pick-N-Pull. I've already turned that place upside down. Thanks.
