Is there a way to configure the forum software to not massacre attached images as it does now. It manages to take a full screen 1280x1024 jpg and turn it into a pretty unreadable image -- for those of us contributing screen shots of scan data and such.
I also noticed that it doesn't accept .BMP files. I guess I can understand that as a space saving function -- but is any of that stuff configurable?
One solution is to upload the image to a free image hosting service such as photobucket.com or imageshack.us. To insert the uploaded image into your post, either copy and paste the link given to you by the free service(it is given to you at the bottom of the page when you upload an image to imageshack) or link it to your image manually. Your link will look something like this: [*img]image url[*/img] (without the asterisks)
Ignore the second arrow that points to the "Alternative Forum"; this forum does not support that format. After that, your image should come up like this:
Filling a thread with huge images like these might be a bit bothersome, so it may be better to post thumbnails of the images. Click the "yes" button under the thumbnail mode and the image will appear like these:
When the image is clicked, you are taken to a full sized version of the image. I am working with the people who host the forum, but as this is a free service we may not be able to post full size images directly to the servers due to cost constraints. If anything changes I will let you know.

Excellent! While depending on an external service to have the images of the duration of time is a bit questionable, the solution you proposed certainly is a good work around.
Thank you. I'll make use of the *img tag and the thumbnail modes.
